Scientific-Practical Centre

Institute of Solid State and Semiconductor Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was founded in November, 1963.

In 2007 the Institute was reorganized to the State Scientific-Practical Association "Scientific and Practical Materials Research Centre of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus".

The following materials are created and investigated:

These materials are produced and investigated in the form of crystals, ceramics, nanomaterials and nanostructures.

Magnetic materials:

Creation and investigations of soft and hard magnetic materials with specified characteristics in the form of ceramics, alloys, solid solutions and multilayered, granulated, nanocrystalline thin films.

Ferroelectric materals:

Creation of ferroelectric materials and investigations of the influence of their composition, characterisitc features microstructure and compaction  at high pressures on electrical-physical properties on the applications of these materials in electronic industry.

Semiconducting materials:

Creation and investigations of physical properties of semiconducting crystals, thin films and solid solutions for applications in laser systems, magnetooptical systems and solar energy converters.

Superhard materials:

Development of methods of creation of polycrystal materials of instrumental purpose on the base of cubic boron nitride and diamond. Release of instruments on the base of these materials.

Optical materials:

Creation and investigations of laser and magnetooptical crystals on the base of complex oxides. Development and investigations of physical properties of materials for laser technique on the base of semiconducting chalcogenides alloyed by transition metals.

Super- and hyperconducting materials:

Creation and complex tests fo electrical and mechanical characteristics of super- and hyperconducting materials in strong magnetic fields.
Development and creation of powerful cryogenic electromagnetic systems (super- and hyperconducting windings).
